Cochlear implants and BAHA hearing systems

The cochlear implant is a special hearing system that's inserted directly into the inner ear through surgery. It consists of two parts, the implant, which is fixed laterally in the skull bone, and the speech processor, which is worn behind the ear like a common hearing aid.
