At some point, we all come to a point where we ask ourselves whether everything is still okay with our hearing. Whether it's because we have a dull hearing impression after a cold, our relatives accuse us of having to say everything several times, or we increasingly find that we have already understood the movie better on TV.<\/p>\n

A hearing test gives you immediate clarity about the current state of your hearing. Knowing this and having it checked regularly if necessary has the advantage that you can react immediately to any changes. Your ears are your most important resource when communicating with other people. It is therefore just as important to take care of them as it is to know exactly how well you can actually hear.<\/p>\n

Our hearing aid acousticians are proven specialists in this field and can tell you what is actually wrong with your hearing in just a few minutes using a free hearing test. If your impression that something is wrong is confirmed, we will tell you what the next steps are. Depending on the findings, we will be happy to refer you to an ENT practice or advise you on hearing aids, accessories, tinnitus or personal hearing protectors.<\/p>\n\t\t\t

Procedure of a hearing test<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

At the start of the initial consultation, our hearing system specialists will try to establish your initial situation by taking a brief medical history. You will describe your assessment of the state of your hearing, any health incidents or diagnosed illnesses. By means of an otoscopy, we will visually examine your ear canal and eardrum to assess whether there are any visible indications of what might be wrong with your ears or, in a broader sense, whether it makes sense or is possible to carry out a hearing measurement.<\/p>\n

After an introduction to the test procedure, the hearing aid acoustician will measure your hearing threshold using pure tone audiometry. This means that you will be presented with sine tones at different frequencies and different volumes via headphones. The hearing threshold is determined at the point where you hear the smallest perceptible stimulus. The deviation from normal hearing is displayed on a sound audiogram in dB HL (decibels of hearing loss) per frequency. Your percentage hearing loss for the respective ear can be derived from this using the CPT AMA calculation key.<\/p>\n

Our hearing care professionals will then discuss the results of the examination with you and work with you to draw up an action plan for the next steps. If a hearing aid fitting is indicated, additional audiological measurements are required, which serve as the basis for an assessment of the case and, in the further course, for the adjustment of potential hearing systems. This includes speech audiometry tests, which analyze speech intelligibility in a quiet environment or in noise. These are carried out as part of a hearing aid fitting and are therefore subject to a charge.<\/p>\n\t\t\t

Proof of hearing \/ certificate<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

For some professions, proof of hearing must be provided (train drivers, audio engineers, boat drivers). In addition to a sound audiogram, this also includes a hearing range test. On request, our specialists will provide you with the corresponding certificate in written form with signature and company stamp.
